Disneyland Paris Cast Members and local youth attend annual International Women’s Day conference with inspiring speakers, workshops

International Women's Day

As part of the resort’s ongoing commitment to diversity and inclusion, Disneyland Paris celebrated International Women’s Day for the fourth year in a row by inviting all of its Cast Members to participate in two days of virtual workshops and keynote presentations. Young members from three French associations promoting inclusion were also invited to take part in the event for a unique enrichment experience.

The 2021 conference focused on themes of exploration and resilience, with presentations featuring incredible women: National Geographic explorer Sarah Marquis; prehistorian Marylène Patou-Mathis; producer Osnat Shurer and writer Adele Lim from Raya and the Last Dragon; and Maison des Femmes president, Dr. Ghada Hatem. Cast Members also enjoyed workshops on self-care, self-awareness, physical health in teleworking conditions and more.

On Monday, dozens of young members from L’Epide, Orphelins Apprentis d’Auteuil and Arpejeh – associations for youth professional advancement – were able to participate in the virtual presentations from Sarah Marquis and Marylène Patou-Mathias. In addition, 10 young women from L’Epide had the opportunity to virtually meet with resort president Natacha Rafalski, for a one-on-one conversation about her career journey and to share advice to help realize their professional goals.

“More than ever, we believe that our cultures unite us, and we want all Cast Members to have the power to speak, act, and present themselves authentically every day,” said Disneyland Paris President Natacha Rafalski. “At Disneyland Paris, we welcome visitors from all over the world, with different expectations and backgrounds. Our Cast Members are our greatest strength and allow us to connect with our visitors in the most amazing ways.”

This conference is just one of several that Disneyland Paris hosts each year to engage Cast Members on important topics such as gender diversity. Throughout the year, the resort also has numerous dedicated employee-driven groups to provide inspiration and support, while continuing to think through impactful policies to implement across the company.

Diversity and inclusion are much more than key values at Disneyland Paris – they are our greatest strengths, and we are focused on expanding our efforts so that Cast Members have the resources and support they need to develop their careers and write their own stories. We have an active commitment to create an environment where everyone belongs.
